Year 12 Homework - complete the question we started researching about Trance, with reference to one other film and then COMMENT on someone else's answer.

Trance Research

1.  Digital Spy - info on where it was filmed
2.  movieblog.com  Marlena Riddle - review of the film.
3.  MSN - Danny Boyle biography where he discusses Trance
4.  contactmusic.com explains how he hired and started working with someone who made all the music for Trance.

Next up - you need to think about developing your answers.  Based on what we did yesterday about Trance, brainstorm the answer to this question.

In what way do the institutions involved in Trance try to connect with and empower their audience?

Do the following for your film:

1.  One marketing campaign  - find and make notes on ready to teach someone else.
2.  One analysis of a scene - find on youtube, make notes onto your blog.

Ok Year 12.  We need to do some serious work on your case studies.  Well done those of you who have thoroughly researched your films, and can clearly apply this research to any question.  I was impressed with the depth of knowledge shown by some of you.  However, some people have clearly done nothing outside of lessons, and some people didn't even use the research I have seen!!!!!

SECTION B OF THE EXAM IS ABOUT THREE FILMS YOU HAVE STUDIED.

Remembering this is imperative for your studies.

Strengths of the answers included:

Matt's studies of the representation of Time in his films.  Perhaps the most clearly structured essay that I read, it showed an interest in what he was studying and he developed his answer well.  He had researched and remembered things to include.

Sophie Cockett - the depth of her answer was great, and she had included lots of very specific examples, like quotes from youtube and fan forums.

Sophie Jones.  Apart from time constraints, Sophie's answer was shaping up nicely.  She has also done her research and this shows.

Amy Hines - another well structured response that showed independent research.

Active research is important from now on, and I would advise finding something about your film each day.

Today's lesson will focus on how to research and
