1.  People have an identity that is beneath the surface and never changes.
People have different levels of power.
3.  Power is something you can get, it is not something given.

Year 13 Homework October 4th

We've now done some of the audience theories in a little more detail, and you should all have a better understanding of reception theory, and of how different audiences may view things.

This week your homework is to produce a case study of one type of representation in the Media, and present it to the class, either just on your blog, or using a power point, next week. 

Possibly studies to do would be:

• Representation of War in video games
• Representation of women in reality TV
• Representations of children in soaps.
• Representation of men on news
• Representation of London in newspapers.

It's up to you but it should include:

1. At least 3 different texts
2. Clips to show your classmates
3. Links to theories, specifically audience theory.
4. Some analysis.
5. Links to wider issues and debates.
