I am on a course today so just continue with your coursework preparation.  Remember what I have said to all of you; it's the detail that matters.  Spending those long hours (I know you hate it Jade!) working on the specifics will get you the marks in the long run.  Think about font size, spacings, colour - does your work look PROFESSIONAL?  Look at the background - is it like backgrounds of similar products?  Is the image placed in the correct place?  Are they the same sort of images? Don't limit yourself to one thing to look at as inspiration - go a little wider and get more ideas.

Also I would like ALL OF YOU, both year 12 and 13 to write a blog post about your coursework, updating me on how your progress is going.  This should include the following:

  • What stage you are at with your products
  • What you have enjoyed doing on your pieces.
  • What you have not enjoyed doing.
  • What you still need to do.
  • What has surprised you during the process of designing and making your products.

See you on Friday year 13 and see you next week year 12!

Year 12 and Year 13 Work

Brainstorm as a class all of the different things you need to include in an answer to one of these questions

MEST 1  Account for the Similarities and Differences in the codes and conventions used by products in your case study.

OR

MEST 3 Developments in new/digital media mean that audiences can now have access to a greater variety
of views and values. To what extent are audiences empowered by these developments.

Next - open up and read the old answers on the shared drive:  Media/ASor ALevel/Pastpapers

On your own blog, make a list of all of the good and bad things you notice about the answer.  What surprised you?  What didn't surprise you?

Finally - make yourself an action plan for your own answer of this question.  What is missing in your knowledge that means you wouldn't be able to answer this question fully?
